The course goes from the Roman Spanish background to the Gothic art (focusing the urban oligarchies of early Renaissance cities like Barcelona). The lessons also deal with the classical topic of the origin of Spain. The teacher will provide the first day of class the textbook in Spanish (and an additional material with the translation of the textbook). The book will be complemented with a strong visual aid. The students, following the method used by the teacher in the class, will make two ten minutes presentations, describing art works, either from those included in the textbook (first presentation) or from others not included (second presentation). This course could be complemented the next school year with Spanish Classic Culture (II), a course dealing with the Spanish Golden Century and Goya.
The exams will be based in 5 general questions (7 points each), previously declared in the Class. Through the answers the students have to show their understanding of the course.
